Welcome to South African Butterfly Breeding Association (SABBA)
The South African Butterfly Breeding Association (SABBA), is a Branch of Conservation of Butterflies in South Africa (CBISA). Its function is to deal with controversial issues related to specifically Butterflies and the Breeding of Butterflies, by setting out guidelines for the "butterfly enthusiast", accommodating their individual rights as well as those rights of the environment, species and related ecosystems.
Enhancing the "butterfly business" in local communities that will improve the quality of ecosystems, their species and creating suitable environments for all animal, bird, vegetation, shrub, tree and bird species. All to coincide with one another, as each one is dependant on another for its survival.
We provide information on a wide range of topics: Butterfly Weddings - Collecting Butterflies - Butterfly Sanctuaries, Breeding of Butterflies, Butterfly Host Plants - Farming with Butterflies - Establishing new businesses in the Butterfly Industry (Butterfly Sanctuaries - Butterfly Breeding Centers - Independent Butterfly Breeders) - Presenting COC courses for all Butterfly related Businesses (including the implementation of a Code of Conduct - Aims and Objectives) - Developing indigenous Butterfly Host plant Nurseries (involving all forms of Garden Services and Local Communities). - The Relocation of Butterfly species and Host Plants to their natural Habitats - (Using vacant land - Caravan parks - Farms - Homes - Municipal Parks and Pavements)
We also provide educational programs (Lectures - Workshops - Field trips and excursions for butterfly and moth enthusiasts). Further to this we provide you with updates - (on other related projects - including other related websites).
SABBA's members are also provided with confidential information on new discoveries, new research locations and the latest developments on conservation projects.
CBISA invites new individuals who come across this website to become members of this unique Non Profit Company (NPC). The offer is open to you - to assist wherever you feel it is within your capability to do so. There is a membership fee of R250 per month. This membership allows you to take advantage of this website presented by CBISA - which covers a very wide spectrum of all the existing and future planned projects of CBISA as well as allowing you some opportunity to become involved in them - should they be of interest to you. A monthly newsletter is automatically provided for your benefit.
